Hello! I am Nathaniel Liles, guitar player. I won't put too much on here because a. I only have internet access every now and then because I go back and forth between parents, and b. I only have a webcam to record with unless I go to my Tech guy's house.

I have seen the light!!!!

I now worship the Flying Spaghetti Monster!

Yes, that's right, I'm serious. I see religeon as a giant joke and as soon as you prove that your god exists, you can start trying to prove the Flying Spaghetti Monster doesn't exist.

BEHOLD AND BE AWAKENED!!!!!

What you want for Christmas...

Posted by LilesNat Aug. 30, 2009 @ 12:04 AM EDT

FUCK YES.
Yeah... Dropped my guitar today. Saw that under the original black coat was white. Carved a Jang Skull into it. Kissed some hands. Shook some babies. And, yeah, the only reason the rest of the guitar looks like hell is because
1. Paint is drying over the scratches...
2. It's got fingerprints, sawdust, sweat, fear, and rabbit urine in it.
3. Yes, I was using a badass camera, but the one using it (me) was a bewildered jackass who's been working or wandering around scince 8 am. It's now 11:55

In other news, my work paid off in a very nice way- Went to book and music exchange, found FLCL (All 6 episodes) for $10. I had $8. So I went to Jimmy's music shop and told them that for $3 (I needed tax too, mind you) I would pass out business cards. I did, got paid, got the dvd. Episode 5 won't play, but that's a small set back, and I can have it refurbished for $5 at http://www.scratchmasters.net/ .

IF IT SUCKS... TELL ME!!!!!!!!

Full Frontal Nerdity

Posted by LilesNat Jul. 16, 2009 @ 1:45 PM EDT

I love the little spaced out smiley... Okay, I've never really considered myself a gamer, I had a GameCube and beat, like 50 or so games on it (Original Burnout, All the GC Zelda games, Double Dash, you know, the good stuff) but after awhile sold it. Now all I was left with were several Pokemon games that my grandparents keep buying me, Guilty Gear, Trauma Center Two, GH: On Tour and Advance Wars Day of Ruin... I sold all of these (cept GH) and got My Japanese Coach and Bangai-O Spirts.

My Japanese Coach:
After two hours of playing this game, I find my self on lesson 9. I skipped the first few by default because the game gives you a quiz at the beginning to see how adept you already are. Having studied Japanese for over a month now, I was able to skip to about Lesson Four. Now I know what the flamers will say... "Zomh, joo suxorz at teaht." But the truth is, the format of the game, though affective, is very time consuming, presenting you with a set of words, characters, phrases or grammatical concepts, and having you do quizzes or minigames to sharpen your ability. After each minigame, you are given points for every word individually, depending on how often you got that specific word correct. After getting enough points on a word, it is categorized as "Mastered" And if you master everything in a lesson, you can then move on. This is a very good game, and of the many ways I've seen Japanese tought (trying to find the best way) this is either best, or second best. The Human Japanese App for iPhone/iPod Touch is the shiznit. You should totally get this game, but only if you have ridiculous amounts of free time, because, like I said, after 2 hours, I made it to lesson 9. Out of 1,000. Yeah. But the game manages to keep learning pretty fresh and useful... I just wish I was to the sentence structure part yet, because the only sentence I can change around how ever I want is, "(insert word) desu", meaning "This is ____"

Bangai-O Spirits:
Okay, considering the first game was pretty much a text book, I needed something ridiculously overdone and pretty to look at. Bangai-O Spirits is just what the doctor ordered. It is VERY japanese, for instance, when you first fire it up, the first thing you see is the games logo right next to the thing you touch to start it up (this is also a ds game if you havent gotten that yet). The logo, ladies and gentlemen, is a MELON. The box shows large explosions and giant robots, and the first in game image you see... Is a melon. The game it self is very polished, with a nice level create system TONS of levels and at most given moments has over 350 bullets on screen at once, every one leaving a trail. All this jammed onto a ds screen is jaw-dropping. Presnts a big challenge, but there's a big learning curve, so once you get the idea, you'll be fine. You also get the costomize you weopons befor every level, adding a degree of strategy. You can have bullets that bounce of walls, homing, napalm, and bullet-peircing bullets. Go get it, it was worth the $10 at Buyback's.

How's THAT work?

Posted by LilesNat Jul. 15, 2009 @ 2:19 AM EDT

Do people frown upon distortion? I recently went over to my friends house and discovered he has a bad ass rig, including (but not limited to) a fully-pimped super expensive DigiTech Effects proccessor and B.C. Rich Warlock guitar, and it's all wired to his PC, and all 5 computers in his house have 2-5 monitors, and are all wired together, WiFi Router and all. He is 2nd Guitar and Tech man in my band, yet to be named. I'm open for suggestions if you got anything. At the end of next year we're gonna kill the school talent show with the Halo 2 theme. You know, the on with Steve Vai on guitar? Tis' badass. But, yeah, I re-recorded Talons with dist. via direct computer link up, and it's a full number lover than version 1, which was recorded via WEBCAM MIC. Hmm... Mabey next time I'll remix it, get the reverb and chorus turned on, toggle distorion... Next time I'm bringing my crap tastic Beringer over to his place, we may do a duel. I dunno. He's actually pretty damn good. At least as good as me. But he knows fancy tricks and crap cause he's filthy rich and get guitar lessons. HE'S GOT 3 PINBALL MACHINES. Meh, I don't judge, his parents have sweet ass jobs, and he's not a douch, which is rare among rich people. Toodles.

Okay, I'm done for now.

Posted by LilesNat Jul. 2, 2009 @ 4:25 PM EDT

Okay, I have officially let loose two of my abominations to the audio portal. One went from the five I gave it to a three in three votes, so I don't think It'll have a long lifespan on here. Well, hopefully I'll figure out my recording software better and get a better mic so I can stop submitting crap and submit something that won't get BLAAAAAAMED...

Hmm... I've got 32,389 characters left... I guess I'll write something about myself. First of all: don't judge my musicaly ability on the three things I've submitted so far, I've just been screwing around with my recording software, I have a crappy mic, and I wanted to try to make some sort of beat. I succeeded. In a horrible, horrible way (Gluuaa?). In the future I will have a better mic and I'll understand my software enough to stop being so damned facinated by the fact that I can add distortion to my burps and make a variable explosion, which is badass. Had this been a gassier day I would have accidently killed half of Florida. And I live in Indiana. Aside from that disclaimer, I play guitar, drums, bass, and trumpet, but if I tried I could play almost any brass stringed, or percussion intrument because most brass carry the same fingering pattern, stringed intruments, all you have to do is press down, and percussion all you need to do is... Well, hit stuff for lack of a better term. I will be a freshman in highschool come the end of summer, but don't think because of my age I'm some immature asshole. I HATE many things, including almost anyone who would ever wear camo, and most people who would ever wear a sports jersy. I think these people look silly and think we care that they like muscular men or think we're in the woods hiding from something... In Kroger. I am not a fan of Skullcandy headphones, but because they keep breaking and they have a "if you break it we'll replace it" policy, so I have free headphones for life. YAY! I wouldn't go through them so fast if Skullcandy wasn't a bunch of greedy cost-cutting bastards who think it's a good idea to make the strip of plastic from the earcup to the headband th flimsiest part. Their loss in the end, because I never have to buy headphones again. I used to play MapleStory, if anyone wants a lvl 31 Assasin, you can have mine for a small fee. I've know of Newgrounds for a very VERY long time, before it was even remotely popular, but it never occurred to me to put stuff on the audio portal. I am pretty easy to get along with, unless you're a dick. So, yeah, there's that. I am a fan of Kevin Smith's movies, most anime and manga (exept fucking Naruto). I listen to alot of different music ranging from Korn, Slipknot, System of a Down, Mettalica, and Job for a Cowboy, to Blind Melon, Jack Johnson, They Might Be Giants, and Jonathan Coulton. I'm on Facebook, so there's that, I have four siblings, four parents and about 20 grandparents, no full-blooded siblings though. Okay, I'm tired of typing, see ya'.

Hmmm...

Posted by LilesNat Jun. 30, 2009 @ 10:42 PM EDT

I think I'm gonna postpone recording any outside-world music for a while. I may still do computer beats. I think I'll go make one... But, yeah, hopefully Talons doesn't see the light of day, or does soon so I can delete it.

Okay, you probably don't know this (because I haven't told anyone yet) but the main reason I'm on here is to put music on. I just submitted my first track, but I'm starting to regret it. I guess I was in a hurry to put something on here or something. The end product was an arrangement of another peice of music, and I have nothing to record with besides my WEBCAM. Wow... I know It's not my fault for having a crappy recorder, but I don't want to be marked as suckish! T~T

On the other hand, I was going through the audio portal and found much, MUCH worse, so I think I'm safe. Anyone know of any programs that clean up sound quality? I have no monies to buy a new mic...
